Small Business Saturday

Small Biz 100

We were selected as one of the Small Business 100, part of the national Small Business Saturday 2018 campaign.

The purpose of Small Business 100 campaign is to raise awareness and the profile of smaller businesses across the UK, highlighting one business per day for the 100 days leading up to Small Business Saturday on the 1st December.

About Small Business Saturday:
Small Business Saturday, a grassroots, not-for-profit campaign, places small, independent businesses in communities across the country in the national spotlight. Its aim is to prompt people not only to spend money with small independent businesses in the run-up to Christmas but also to create a mind-set to support them all year round. The campaign highlights one business per day on the run up to Small Business Saturday, being held this year on the 1st December.

Small Business Saturday is the UK’s most successful small business campaign and is in its 6th year. Last year it saw £748m spent with small businesses across the UK on Small Business Saturday, up 4% on the previous year. The campaign trended at number one in the UK on Twitter on the day with more than 115,000 campaign-related tweets being sent, reaching over 115 million people globally.

The campaign also benefits from the backing of the Prime Minister, Mayor of London and leading business organisations including the Federation of Small Businesses, Enterprise Nation and American Express.

Applications for Small Biz 100 open in June.

Theo Paphitis Small Business Sunday Official Winner

Theo Paphitis Small Business Sunday #SBS

Small Business Sunday, shortened to the hashtag #SBS on Twitter, was created by Theo Paphitis in October 2010. Theo is best known for appearing on Dragons’ Den on BBC Two. He is Chairman of Ryman Stationery plus Boux Avenue lingerie, Robert Dyas and latest acquisition London Graphic Centre.

Each week, Theo rewards small businesses that tweet him @TheoPaphitis and describe their businesses in one tweet including the all-important hashtag #SBS. Only tweets made in the time slot between 5.00 PM and 7.30 PM each Sunday count.

Every Monday night at 8pm, Theo reviews and chooses his favourite lucky six who are then re-tweeted. As he has over 500,000 followers, this provides a massive boost to the chosen lucky businesses.

The benefits range from increased Twitter followers, to positive media publicity and crucially for many, increased sales! Of course, none of this is guaranteed as it is largely down to perseverance and hard work. A smidgen of luck comes in handy.

Queen of Funding

#Queen of Funding

We were chosen to be #Queen of Funding in February 2019.

The Royal Connection was started by Aqua Design Group as a fun way to celebrate women in business with the #QueenOf day competition which was weekly during the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II in 2012, this proved so popular that the competition has continued ever since.

#QueenOf day takes place every Thursday 9am – 9pm on Twitter with Andy Quinn @ADG_IQ.

This was then expanded to include a #KingOf day weekly competition to celebrate men in business and to include an additional award called #OrderOfFabulous to reward those that are supporting the competitions and its entrants.

#KingOf day takes place every Tuesday 9am – 9pm on Twitter with Andy Quinn @ADG_IQ.
