Swap Shop gets boost from former Dragon

Winning tweet from Theo Paphitis #SBS 26 April 2021

The UK Swap Shop has received a major boost from former Dragon’s Den investor Theo Paphitis.

The national business swapping portal, which started out as the Derby Swap Shop, has secured membership of the prestigious Small Business Sunday club (SBS), created by the entrepreneur.

The concept was founded by Rachel Hayward, of Ask the Chameleon, Dean Jackson, from HUUB and Lee Marples, from Think3.

Now, with over 500,000 small businesses already registered on SBS, it is gearing up to provide its fellow members with its innovative free-to use service, giving firms across the country the opportunity to exchange goods and services with each other, at no bottom-line cost.

Already the variety of swaps has amazed co-founder Rachel Hayward, with website design being exchanged for HR advice, camping weekends for marketing support, transport services for packaging design, and copywriting for cakes!

She said: “There seems to be literally nothing that cannot be achieved on The UK Swap Shop.

“We have seen struggling small firms from all corners of the nation gain valuable business support from their peers, with no impact on their cashflow.

“This co-operative approach is helping so many SME’s survive and recover more strongly from the huge economic downturn that we have all suffered over the last year.

“We’re already seeing an increase in swaps posted since our inclusion in the #SBS family, and with half a million new fans, it won’t be long before we break through the 1,000 swappers barrier.”
